MD Global on Thursday launched a new budget smartphone - the Nokia 2.3 - at a special event in Cairo. The newly launched budget smartphone succeedes the Nokia 2.2 that was launched last year and it comes with a button dedicated for invoking Google Assistant.
In terms of the specifications, the Nokia 2.3 comes with a 6.2-inch HD+ display with a screen resolution of 1520x720 pixels. It features a water-drop notch in the front that houses the phone's 5MP selfie camera. It is powered by quad-core MediaTek Helio A22 processor and it sports 2GB RAM with 32GB internal memory that can be expanded further up tp 400GB using a microSD card.

On the software front, the Nokia 2.2 successor runs on Android 9.0 Pie, which seems a bit old given the timeline of launch. However, HMD Global says that the phone is "ready for Android 10 and beyond" and that the phone will get three years of security updates and two years of software updates. As far as the camera is concerned, the Nokia 2.3 comes with a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 13MP lens with a focal length of f/2/2 and a 2MP depth sensor with LED flash. On the front, as I mentioned before the phone comes with a 5MP camera with a focal length of f/2.4.
The newly launched phone also comes with a bunch of new camera-focused features. It comes with a Recommended Shot feature which according to the company helps users pick the best picture when clicking multiple shots of the same subject. Nokia also claims that the phone is capable of capturing highlights in low-light conditions using its AI-powered image fusion technology.

The dual SIM phone has Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS and Wi-Fi 802.11 for connectivity and it is backed by a gigantic 4,000mAh battery that is coupled with a 5V1A charger.
As far as the price and availability goes, the Nokia comes at a starting price of 109 euros (Rs 8,600 approx). It is available in three colour variants -- Cyan Green, Sand and Charcoal, and it will be available starting mid-December. Nokia hasn't revealed as to when it will launch the phone in India or how much it would cost, but we expect the phone to cost under Rs 10,000.
