How Amazon Alexa may become witness in a murder case

A man in Florida has a fight with his wife after a night out at home, and she is somehow "spread to the chest" during the altercation and dies after heavily bleeding from the wound. The man is charged with second-degree murder but denies having killed her. There was no one else who saw or heard the whole thing while it happened.

There was someone, or rather something that may have heard it. We are talking about the Amazon Echo devices in the house which the police think may have listened to parts of an altercation that may give a clue to the cause of the woman's death.

The man is 43 years old Adam Crespo. The woman was 32 year old Sylvia Galva Crespo. She died from a fatal wound to the chest by a spear at home in Hallandale Beach, Florida in July.

As per a report by the Sun-Sentinel, The police think that the Amazon Echo smart devices may have recorder something pertinent to the case as they might have got activated with the common "wake" word. The Florida police think that there may be some evidence recorded on Amazon servers through these home devices.

The interesting facts is that the police did find some recordings on the smart devices at home and have been sent for analysis.

As per the husband Adam Crespo, the spear broke during the fight and the 12-inch blade pierced the chest of Sylvia. The husband says that he tried to take the blade out and did pull it out, "hoping it was not too bad", but she succumbed to the injury. The police found her bleeding profusely from the wound and being helped by another woman who is a friend of hers. But who picked up the spear in the first place? who was trying to hurt the other person? The wife? Or the husband? This is unclear.

The husband denies of the murder offence. He has been set free on $65,000 bond. Now, it seems like only Amazon Alexa voice recordings could shed a clearer light on this death shrouded in mystery.
