Last month, the Lenovo-owned Motorola introduced its new P series of smartphones with the launch of the P30. The handset arrived as a mid-range offering running the power-efficient Snapdragon 636 SoC. Today, the company has expanded the P series with the launch of the P30 Note in its home market of China. As the phone’s name suggests, it comes as a battery-centric offering with a massive power cell powering its core. Notably, the Motorola P30 Note is a variant of the Motorola One Power, which was launched at this year’s IFA in Berlin. The new Motorola handset has arrived as an exclusive offering for the Chinese market.
Talking about the battery first, the Motorola P30 Note sports a 5,000mAh fuel cell, which supports 18W fast charging. The smartphone is equipped with a 6.2-inch FHD+ display bearing an aspect ratio of 19:9, a notch on top, and a layer of Corning’s Gorilla Glass on top. Powering the device is an octa-core Snapdragon 636 processor, aided by an Adreno 509 GPU. Software-wise, the handset boots Android 8.1 Oreo-based ZUI 4.0, which is odd for a Motorola smartphone as most of them usually run stock Android.
As for the camera department, the Motorola P30 Note offers a 16MP primary camera at the rear, aided by a 5-megapixel secondary shooter. For selfies, there’s a 12-megapixel snapper that has an aperture of f/2.0. Design-wise, the smartphone has a metal unibody build with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, which is hiding below the Motorola dimple at the back. The 4G-enabled offering comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack and Dolby Audio.
The Motorola P30 Note has been priced at RMB 1,999 (~Rs 20,700) for the 4GB RAM variant, while the handset’s 6GB RAM model will set you back by RMB 2,299 (~Rs 23,900). The smartphone is available to buy in China.
