The up and coming Lenovo Z5 Pro could be everything that the Lenovo Z5 aspired to be but failed miserably at delivering. The Z5 was rumoured to come with a pure bezel-less display but it launched as a regular mid-range phone with a noticeable chin at the bottom and a displeasing notch at the top. There are once again similar rumours about the Z5 Pro that hint at a device that could race against the phones like the Oppo Find X or Vivo Nex.

  • The slider in Z5 Pro is different from the pop-up camera in Oppo Find X
  • The phone will launch on October 1
  • The company's VP was seen holding the phone in his hands

There is a leaked video, rumoured to be of the Z5 Pro, that shows a phone with an almost 100 per cent screen-to-body ratio and top slider. While we have a valid reason to not trust these rumours because similar tall claims were made before the launch of Lenovo Z5 also.

However, the device was seen in the hands of Lenovo's VP Liu Jun during a press conference held in Beijing. Company's another VP Chang Cheng also took it to Chinese social media site Weibo and announced that it will launch on the National Day in China on October 1.

In the 12-second long video that surfaced online earlier this month the phone in question is seen sporting a slider mechanism. However, the slider works differently than what we see in the Oppo Find X. The slider automatically pops-up when you launch the camera app in the Find X. The Lenovo device seen in the video shows the user manually sliding it.

It is unclear how will this mechanism be used or what happens if we launch the camera app without manually sliding the phone since the top slider will have the cameras. The video also sports under-display fingerprint sensor. To recall, the Lenovo Z5 was also rumoured to come with an in-display fingerprint sensor but that didn't turn out to be true.

ro is expected to be an upgrade over the Lenovo Z5 so we can expect some specifications upgrade like it could be powered by Snapdragon 660 or 670 chipset with same 6GB RAM. The storage could be another big upgrade as there are rumours that Z5 Pro could pack in up to 256GB of internal storage. All these are just rumours and leaks so we advise you to take them with a pinch of salt.
