Vivo X21 Price Cut in India
The flagship Vivo device called Vivo X21 was selling at Rs 35,990 across all e-stores, but Mahesh Telecom said the new price of the Vivo X21 is Rs 31,990. That is a brilliant plunge of Rs 4,000, quite certain to drive sales up. However, since the Vivo X23 is close to launch, we can’t say we are absolutely surprised.
Other Vivo handsets that received a price cut are Vivo V9, Vivo Y83, and Vivo Z10. The Vivo V9, a mid-ranger that sells fast, was going for Rs 20,990 (64GB) at Flipkart, and now will come at a new price of Rs 18,990. Who does not like a flat 10 per cent off?
The Vivo Y83 and the Vivo Z10 were both selling for Rs 14,990 each and will come in at Rs 13,990 now.
Vivo X21 Specifications
The Vivo X21 is a flagship Vivo device, sporting a tall 6.28-inch Super AMOLED display with a fingerprint reader embedded inside it. The display is notched and almost bezel-free, and hence achieves a 19:9 aspect ratio and more than 85 per cent screen-to-body ratio. The device is made out of aluminium and glass, weighs just 156 grams, and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset and comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
You can stretch the storage to 256GB but there is no dedicated SD card slot, so it will use SIM 2 slot for the memory card. A Funtouch OS 4.0 skin does the software job, based on Android 8.1 Oreo, and the battery is 3200mAh with fast charging support.
The dual rear camera on the Vivo X21 houses a 12MP primary lens that gets a wide f/1.8 aperture, large 1.4-micrometre pixels, and dual pixel phase-detection autofocus, while the depth sensor is 5MP. The front shooter is 12MP and even this one gets a nice f/2.0 for wide-angle selfies.
Connectivity features include dual-band WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, A-GPS, USB on-the-go, but no Type-C USB.
Vivo V9 Specifications
The Vivo V9 is mid-range smartphone that looks just like its flagship cousin. It sports a 6.3-inch display but this one is IPS LCD type instead of AMOLED, and the device weighs 150 grams in a glass-aluminium body. The design language is the same, with 19:9 aspect ratio, 85.2 per cent screen-to-body ratio, and a notched display with nearly no bezels.
Running the operations is the same Funtouch OS 4.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo, but the Snapdragon chipset in this handset is an older 626 processor, which, however, does 2.2GHz. You get a 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage plus a dedicated third slot for SD card, so you can stretch the memory to 256GB.
The Vivo V9 offers great camera gear, with a 16MP+5MP rear camera setup and a 24MP selfie snapper. Both front and rear cameras get a wide f/2.0 aperture, and HD video recording, while the dual rear camera gets HD recording at 2160 pixels as well as a dual-LED flash. The battery is 3260mAh, and this handset also misses out on Type-C USB, but does get a fast dual-band WiFi.
