Reliance JioPhone 2

Reliance Jio’s latest feature phone, the JioPhone 2 went on a flash for the first time on the 16th of this month. If you were among the many customers who were able to successfully purchase the “smart” feature phone in the first sale, you might be curious as to when the phone will be arriving at your doorstep.

JioPhone 2: Here’s How Long You Have to Wait to Get it Delivered

According to a report, Reliance Jio will deliver the JioPhone 2 to customers within 5 to 7 working days. Of course, the exact time taken for delivery will also depend on your location. However, thanks to the massive number of orders that it has received, Reliance Jio has said that it might take slightly longer as well for them to deliver the phone to customers. Once you receive your JioPhone 2, you will need to wait a little longer to actually start using it. Since the phone does not come with a pre-activated SIM, you will need to visit your nearest Jio store and get the SIM activated before you can start accessing 4G data and make phone calls with the JioPhone 2

JioPhone 2: Price in India, Offers, Next Sale Date

The JioPhone 2 is priced at Rs.2,999 in India, making it significantly more expensive than the JioPhone. While there are no exciting offers on the JioPhone 2 currently, you will need to pay Rs.99 as delivery charge when you purchase one. That brings the total price of the handset to Rs.3,098. If you don’t mind paying a premium for the BlackBerry-inspired design of the JioPhone 2, you will be able to purchase one in the next flash sale, which is scheduled for 12 PM on August 30th.

JioPhone 2: Specifications, Features

The most significant difference between the JioPhone and the JioPhone 2 is the design. While the JioPhone sports a regular candbybar design, the JioPhone 2 has a physical QWERTY keypad with a BlackBerry-inspired design. Despite sporting a completely different design on the outside, the JioPhone 2 has the same 2.4-inch display with QVGA resolution as the JioPhone. Under the hood, however, there are no significant differences between the two phones. Just like the JioPhone, the new JioPhone 2 runs on a quad-core processor clocked at 1 GHz. Reliance Jio hasn’t specified which exact processor it is using, which is a little strange. In terms of memory, the feature phone comes with 4GB of internal memory and 512MB of RAM. There is a microSD card slot as well, allowing further expansion up to 128GB.

Moving on to optics, the JioPhone 2 has a 2MP resolution camera at the rear and a 0.3MP VGA resolution snapper on the front for video calls. When it comes to connectivity, JioPhone 2 supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 Low Energy, GPS, NFC, FM radio, 4G VoLTE, and VoWiFi. However, unlike the JioPhone, the JioPhone 2 has two SIM card slots. The smartphone packs a 2000mAh capacity battery, which is impressively large for a feature phone. Running on the KaiOS mobile operating system, the JioPhone 2 supports 22 Indian languages – Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Dogri, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Santhali, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. It also comes with a voice assistant with voice-enabled search, browser for 4G internet browsing, Torch, calculator, alarm, calendar, gallery, and more. You can install additional apps from the JioStore app. While Facebook and YouTube apps are already available on the JioStore, JioPhone 2 owners will need to wait slightly longer to be able to download WhatsApp.
