Huawei’s subbrand Honor is launching a new smartphone in India today. The latest offering from the Chinese handset-maker comes in the form of the Honor 9N which is to be unveiled at a launch event in Delhi.
The Honor 9N is the rebranded version of Honor 9i that was launched earlier this year in China. The company has been teasing this smartphone on social media for a while now and today we’ll see if the device is worth all the hype. The company has been very careful about disclosing the details of the smartphone, hence the launch event could pack an element of surprise. Let’s take a look at what we know about the device so far.

Honor 9N: Features, Specifications
The Huawei Honor 9N is a mid-range Android-based smartphone flaunting a metal unibody design and comes with a notched-screen. The device sports a 5.84-inch Full HD+ screen which comes with a notch at the top of the phone. The notch on the screen houses the frontal imaging unit, proximity sensor, notification light and the earpiece that ensures that the screen has narrow bezels which in turn creates a unique visual experience for the user.
Under the hood, the device is loaded with an octa-core proprietary HiSilicon Kirin 659 chipset coupled with 4GB of RAM that ensures a lag-free and smooth performance. You can multitask or play games without having to worry about the performance of the device.
The smartphone ships with a fingerprint sensor mounted on the back beside the image sensors. The smartphone is claimed to be an extension of the Huawei 9-series of smartphone and can be considered as a toned-down variant of the Huawei Honor 9. For optics, the smartphone comes with dual 13+2-megapixel image sensors at the back which are coupled with AI-powered features that offer detailed-oriented images and videos in any lighting conditions.
Additionally, to aid poor-lighting shots, the image snappers are accompanied by an LED flash. On the front, there is a powerful 16-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls via third-party apps. The Huawei Honor 9N is fuelled by a standard 3,000mAh cell which is expected to last up to 6 hours on normal usage. Unfortunately, there is no fast charging support on the Honor 9N.
On the storage front, the Huawei Honor 9N comes with 64GB of onboard storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. Note that you have to use the Hybrid SIM slot to boost the storage on the device. On the software front, the Huawei Honor 9N boots EMUI 8.0 wrapped under the Android 8.0 Oreo operating system out of the box.
The smartphone comes bundled with multiple connectivity options. The connectivity options that you get along with the handset include 4G with VoLTE support, Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and a microUSB 2.0 port.
Honor 9N: Expected Price, Availability
The Honor 9N was earlier launched in China for a price ticket of Yuan 1399, which is approximately Rs. 14,647 for the 64GB variant, while the 128GB storage variant sold for a price ticket of Yuan 1699, which is roughly Rs 17,800. According to multiple sources, the base model of the Honor 9N could be priced around Rs 11,990, while the top-end model of the smartphone might end up carrying a price tag that reads somewhere around Rs 13,990.
The Honor 9N will come as a Flipkart exclusive device. The company has not revealed many details and is expected to take the fans by surprise.
