WhatsApp plans to end its support for several smartphones this year. Yes, the chat app has updated its support page to add few more names to its list of phones that would stop supporting WhatsApp soon. The company has released a new list of phones that will stop receiving WhatsApp update by the end of the year 2018.
The chat company says that it is ending its support on these phones because they won't be able to support all the new features that WhatsApp plans to add in the future. Some of the devices in the list have already stopped supporting the chat app while some are set to lose the support by the end of this year.
WhatsApp also suggests its users to upgrade to a newer Android version in case they are using an old one. " ... we'll no longer actively develop for these operating systems, some features might stop functioning at any time. If you currently use an older operating system, we recommend upgrading to a newer version...," says the chat company on its support page.
